Oddly enough I never received a shipping confirmation email or update on my account, but my package arrived via EMS on July 12th. Even after my package arrived, my order online still says "processing". I was shocked at such how large the box was! Here it is with a Lovelyz DVD for reference.
Here are the two magazines. They come in a plastic wrap; I was surprised even the circular magazine had a plastic wrap on it that fit pretty well. Unfortunately about 1.25 inches of the edge of the circular magazine was bent, affecting the cover and two pages (why did it have to be on Golden Child's side...).
And even more odd, on July 15th KMall24 emailed me tracking for my package, and this one arrived on July 22nd. So I somehow received two orders. The only reasons I'm bringing this up are because 1) from my past posts it sounds like I always have bad luck with packages, and 2) to show how the magazines were packaged differently between the two packages. Here the box is much narrower and taller; the magazines arrived curled.
I guess the magazines were already curled due to the factory seal. The inconsistency in the magazines' manufacturing is quite interesting.
X KWAVE No.3
I believe this magazine was released in July 2018. This magazine features Golden Child on one side, and SF9 on the other side. This is such a beautiful magazine especially when there are only two artists, each with 50 pages and their own cover. The magazine shape is also really unique with its circle design, but the binding at the spine is also very sturdy. The magazine is also quite large, about 10.75" in diameter.
I say there are 50 pages for Golden Child, but this includes the staff credits page and 6 pages featuring artwork by visual artist Dali Park.
The first half contains photos of Golden Child in white. 6 pages feature 2 individual shots each of Y, Jangjun, and Joochan.
The following 2 pages are sub-unit photos of Y, Jangjun, and Joochan.
The next 6 pages feature individual shots of Seungmin, Jibeom, and Donghyun.
The following 2 pages are sub-unit photos of Seungmin, Jibeom, and Donghyun.
The next 8 pages feature individual shots of Daeyeol, Tag, Jaehyun, and Bomin.
The remaining 2 pages from this first half are sub-unit photos of Daeyeol, Tag, Jaehyun, and Bomin.
The second half contains photos of Golden Child in black. This is the section that contains the 6 pages of random artwork.
There is 1 individual shot per member.
There are 2 photos per sub-unit (Daeyeol, Y, Jangjun, Jibeom, and Bomin in one unit, and Tag, Seungmin, Jaehyun, Donghyun, and Joochan in the other unit).
All sub-unit shots don't have graphic art. Shout out to Golden Child's OST "Love Letter"!
All solo shots have graphic art.
There are 2 group photos.
Here is the other group photo.
Here is the last page of Golden Child's spread, which is upside down compared to the rest of their section.
There is also a small booklet in the middle of the magazine containing magazine credits and a list of the clothing brands used for both SF9 and Golden Child. For some reason SF9 gets 4 pages in this booklet while Golden Child only gets 2.
M KWAVE No.54
This magazine was released on May 8, 2019 and four artists. Like the other magazine, this magazine has two covers, where one side features Mommy Son and Jun Hyo Seong, and then flipping the magazine to the other cover features Kim Jun Su and Golden Child's Jang Jun and Y. The cover has a nice texture to it where it's not prone to fingerprints. The magazine is also quite large, with dimensions 10.6875" by 10.625" by 0.1875".
Before each artist's section, there is a smaller page listing magazine credits.
The other side of that smaller page lists the clothing brands used.
Excluding that smaller page, there are a total of 8 pages for Golden Child. There are three individual pages of Jangjun.
As well as three individual pages of Y.
Here are the remaining solo shots.
And lastly another group photo.
Overall, I love just how high quality KWAVE's magazines are! Photoshoots tend to have more drastic concepts, so it's nice seeing these other sides of Golden Child. I hope the boys will be featured in more of these magazines in the future!
