Honestly I was only going to create a season's greetings review post and combine it with my ordering experience, but because it's always quite the adventure ordering from Woollim Mall, I figured I'd have to make a separate post just explaining about Woollim Mall's preorder events and my experience trying to order from them.
On November 9th, 2021 at 4PM KST Woollim posted 2022 Season's Greetings preview for Golden Child, along with sibling artists Woohyun, Rocket Punch, Drippin, and Eunbi. Details included the pre-order period of November 10th 2PM KST to November 24th 11:50PM KST, and that there is a special event with the purchase on Woollim Mall. As the pre-order began, Woollim Mall posted details about the special event. Below is the info for Golden Child's, though the general idea applies to the other Woollim artists' events:
- Your purchase automatically enters you into either a 1:1 video call event (10 winners per member) or a group fan sign event (30 winners) (you choose when you make your purchase)
- Each season's greetings comes with 1 pre-order benefit photocard. There are 10 types of photocards for the video call event application and a different 10 types of photocards for the fan sign event application
The one benefit for Woollim stans to go through Woollim Mall is that you can purchase multiple artists' season's greetings, or even the same artist's season's greetings but apply for multiple members' video calls or a mix of a video call event or fan sign event, and pay all within the same order to combine shipping.
While on the item page here, you fill out the form with your identification, event type, member, etc. before adding the season's greetings to your cart. Right when preorders dropped, all fields (other than the event field) were text fields, but later on the member selection for the videocall option became a dropdown.
The Daum Cafe post also stated the delivery date would begin sequentially starting on December 20th, but it's unfortunate that international fans are receiving their packages well past the new year...such a shame that the beautiful January Jaehyun photos won't get their full time to shine...
I've always had my qualms about Everline, but nonetheless I still wanted to order the season's greetings from them. As I started to check out and Woollim Mall brought me to the Eximbay page to pay, lo and behold I got a popup message stating that I have been blacklisted. I tried multiple accounts, multiple credit cards, multiple names, multiple addresses, switching between wifi, hardwired internet, and data, and different devices, and they ALL stated that I have been blacklisted. I was dumbfounded, as someone who religiously buys on Woollim Mall despite their ridiculous treatment to international buyers, I still gave into them because I am desperate, and this is what happens :/ Of course there are third party sellers, but I wanted to go through Woollim Mall for the preorder photocard benefit and videocall entry.
And so I would like to thank my friend for helping me out to order 2 Golden Child Season's Greetings from Woollim Mall during the first preorder round^^
Another interesting point is earlier in the preorder period, buying 2 season's greetings totalled to $117.65 USD shipped to the US. But then on November 23rd KST the total for 2 season's greetings became $121.21 USD, with a slight increase in the shipping fee.
On November 25th at 6PM KST, less than a day after preorders closed, Woollim Mall tweeted a second round of preorders would take place from November 26th 12PM KST to November 28th 11:59PM KST, and this does not qualify for a videocall or fansign event but does automatically warrant a set of 10 preorder benefit photocards that differ from the first round of preorders.
Therefore the list of Woollim Mall preorder benefit photocards from Golden Child's 2022 Season's Greetings are as follows:
- 10 total from the videocall application
- 10 total from the fansign application
- 10 total from the second round of preorders
My Woollim Mall package arrived on January 13th in a cardboard box.
There was a layer of bubblewrap on top (now removed), a layer of bubblewrap on the bottom, and the two season's greetings were stacked on top of each other and placed inside a bubblewrap bag. The preorder benefit photocards were placed together in a penny sleeve inside the bubblewrap bag.
Here are the Season's Greetings, along with the preorder benefit photocard packet. The weird thing is that these season's greetings didn't have any external wrapping, so it could be tampered with from manufacturing to delivery.
Here are the 2 videocall preorder benefit photocards I received!
The backsides of the photocards all have the Season's Greetings logo design. These cards have a glossy finish.
The Season's Greetings comes with a set of postcards. To my utter surprise, one of my sets was missing the Jangjun postcard! Since this is a manufacturing error, it seems a bit difficult to file a claim. This is similar to what happened with my Game Changer postcard set, where I received a duplicate Jaehyun postcard in place of a missing Joochan postcard.
Everline never fails to keep me on my toes and test my determination for obtaining Golden Child merchandise >.< As much as I hate using Everline, it's even worse that I don't even have the ability to order from them anymore. It's a shame that they are like a conglomerate with how Woollim Mall exists. But it is what it is, and I'm just happy to have this Season's Greetings^^ I'll be blogging about the Golden Child 2022 Season's Greetings in an upcoming post!
