Nam Woohyun: A New Journey 3rd Mini Album (Big Size Limited Version) Review

To my surprise, Woohyun has come back on May 7th with his third mini album, A New Journey! Though his enlistment is impending, he is as busy as ever with another musical, his solo concerts, and now his comeback. Similar to Sung Kyu's 10 Stories, A New Journey has a Normal Version and Big Size Limited Version. I blogged about my purchase of both versions here and I'll blog about the Big Size Limited Version below.
The Big Size Limited Version of A New Journey has a matte finish with the text embossed on top. There is a nice vertical ribbing on the front, adding minimalist design. The spine simply has Woohyun's name embossed in white. The album is about 8" by 11.25" by 0.75".
The backside is simplistic. This exterior case is made of thin cardstock.
What caught my eye is "LIPSS" is listed at the bottom. This is the Korean photo service company that featured Infinite in April 2019 for the "INFINITE Recollection".
You can slip out the contents of the album from the right of the exterior case.
Here is the front cover of the interior case, which is made of a thicker cardstock. The spine is on the right.
The backside reveals the tracklist.
I instinctively opened the interior case as if reading from right to left, revealing more loose leaf contents on the left, and the "Thanks To" embossed on the right.
There are three booklets. It turns out these are the backs of the booklets. They all have the same design for the back cover, with the oval "NAM WOO HYUN 3RD MINI" printed in the center.
The left side has a thicker cardstock to hold the CD, along with a foam center. I really like the CD design; it's like a mini record!
Here are the front covers of the three booklets. All three booklets contain 28 pages (this includes the front and back covers).
The first booklet contains the song credits and lyrics. The first pages of the first booklet reveal the song credits.
My random pulls were placed between the third and fourth pages of the first booklet.
Each album (Normal or Big Size Limited) comes with one out of four designs. The photocard is glossy and has the same dimensions and roundness of the corners as Infinite's most recent releases (Top Seed, 10 Stories, Second Write.., and Bye).
Here is the backside of my photocard.
The limited version also comes with one of three special photos. Perhaps this is where Lipss comes in. The photo is a matte print and comes in a clear sleeve.
The backside of the photo states "FUJIFILM". The photo is 6" by 8".
There is one page dedicated to each song, which includes the song credits and song lyrics if applicable. These pages are spread throughout the booklet.
The first booklet contains photos from all four photoshoots. The first shoot is the one of Woohyun wearing the low cut top. It's...too...much...for my eyes!
The second shoot is the one of Woohyun in a cream suit.
The third shoot is of Woohyun wearing the black suit outside.
And the last shoot is of Woohyun in the white casual wear outside.
The last page contains the album credits.
The second booklet contains photos from the first two photoshoots.
Despite the revealing outfit, I really like the photos from this shoot.
Here is the other shoot in this booklet. These photos are kind of weird to me; it's like Woohyun's waiting to use the bathroom in a club.
I do like how the images are quite large in these booklets. Sometimes Woollim has such tiny images and uses lots of white space, but this time the photo size is great.
I prefer the photos from this shoot where Woohyun isn't in the stairwell. These look really nice and give off a bit of Sunggyu's 10 Stories feel.
Here's the last two pages of the second booklet. I'm always fascinated by reflections in photos.
The third booklet contains photos from the last two photoshoots, which also give off that 10 Stories vibe.
These photos are a bit blurry...I guess this is the aesthetic Woollim was going for.
I like the layout of these photos.
Here are the last two pages of the third booklet.

The album title A New Journey is very fitting since the tracklist shows the various genres Woohyun tried outside of ballads. Below is the tracklist of this mini album:
  1. A New journey - is the instrumental intro track for the album.
  2. Hold On Me feat. Junoflo - is the title, written by Woohyun with rap written by Junoflo! Woohyun had said he wanted to try other genres, so I'm really happy that he was able to do so with this album, this time promoting a dance track as the title. Furthermore, I'm so proud that Golden Child's Tag has been filling in for Junoflo as Woohyun promotes this track!
  3. Rain - is another track written by Woohyun! I'm happy Woohyun is able to promote this song as well as Flower.
  4. Stranger - is yet another track written and also composed by Woohyun!
  5. Crying Baby
  6. 넌 나만 바라봐
  7. Flower - is written and co-composed by Woohyun! The chorus is absolutely beautiful and really soothing.
Overall, I'm so happy Woohyun has so much going on before is impending enlistment and that he's able to release an album to share his songs and try out other genres. I'm glad they released a limited version of this album, because Woollim's most recent solo albums have been rather small...speaking of which, I'll be blogging about the normal version of this album as well!
