My Korean Haul!

This week I received another package from a very special friend! During my second year in college, I began taking Korean 101 and had to meet a language partner where I would help them with English and they would help me with Korean. I was so lucky to be paired with none other than a Korean Inspirit! She is my very first Inspirit friend and I hold our friendship very dearly. Anyways, she sent me another box of goodies, which I want to show on here^^
My friend gave me a project banner from the second day of IE in Seoul, fansite fans, Myungsoo's TSC2 poster, two Infinite Only normal albums, Infinite Only photocards, scratch postcards of Korean landmarks, and a festive holiday card.

Coming up, I'll have a separate post showing the random member pages of the Infinite Only albums, and I'll continue my Infinite collection series. I'll show all of the Infinite Only photocards I received in my collection post about Infinite's Korean albums.

Infinite: Infinite Effect Advance Live CD + DVD Review

On November 10th, 2016, Woollim released Infinite's Infinite Effect Advance Live CD + DVD set. This set contains the concert DVD and live tracks from Infinite's second world tour encore concert in Seoul Day 2 from February 2nd, 2016. This post is going to be pretty lengthy, where I talk about Infinite's second world tour in general, and intertwine that with my unboxing.

I'm going to go off-topic really quickly, to talk about Ktown4u's and YesAsia's cancellation policies. Long story short, I was overwhelmed with this pre-order: I first pre-ordered from Ktown4u, then cancelled that order, then pre-ordered from YesAsia, then cancelled that order, and finally re-pre-ordered from Ktown4u. To cancel an order from Ktown4u, I simply used the site's 1:1 customer service, and they automatically cancelled my order within a few hours, no questions asked. To cancel an order from YesAsia, I used their customer service contact section, and it took them about one day to cancel my order. YesAsia doesn't bill your credit card until after they ship out the order, so my transactions from YesAsia weren't on my credit card bill. Both sites were very efficient in their cancellation process.

I ultimately decided to pre-order from Ktown4u because this set comes with 2 exterior posters only for first press, and Ktown4u always provides folded posters with their pre-orders. Ktown4u also held an event where they would randomly send a signed poster to 10 individuals for those who pre-ordered. My order was under $65USD with shipping. My order was shipped out really quickly on November 10th PST - I love how Ktown4u is always so efficient on their shipments. My package arrived on November 25th in an orange waterproof, bubblewrap-lined envelope (like Kpoptown's). My item and the 2 folded posters came carefully wrapped in 3 layers of bubblewrap. I was thrilled to see that everything had arrived in perfect condition - no exterior damage at all!
Sometimes readers ask me about Ktown4u's customers declaration, so I have included a picture of what the mailing sheet looked like on my package. In my order, I had chosen to state the full retail value of the item and that it is merchandise, not a gift.
Here are the 2 external posters that come with first press.
These posters are the same dimensions as Infinite's usual album posters.
This set is packaged in a metallic blue, square box. The front cover has a transparent plastic film with a geometric pattern on it, matching Infinite's One Great Step Returns Live album design. The box dimensions are 7" x 7" x 1.75".
The bottom of the box has the CD tracklist and technical DVD information. The DVDs are for all regions, have subtitles in Korean, English, Chinese, and Japanese, and are 180 minutes in total. The concert tracklist is not listed here.
Packaged inside the box, on the top is the disc case (blue) and on the bottom is the photobook (white).
The exterior design of the disc case and the photobook are quite similar. Also you can see how metallic and shiny the disc case is here. Both the disc case and the photobook are very smooth and glossy.
Here is the front cover of the disc case and photobook.
And here is the back cover.
The disc case is quad-fold. Unfolding it once reveals the tracklists.
The left side contains the tracklist for the DVDs.
The right side contains the tracklist for the CDs. I know it's hard to see the tracklists, so I've included them in a table below.
The two DVDs are on the left and the two CDs are on the right. The first DVD is just over 1 hour and 27 minutes long and the second DVD is just over 1 hour and 32 minutes.
The photobook has 92 pages (as stated by YesAsia) and is broken up into sections. There are no page numbers, but the sections start with the individual promotional photos, 1 for each member, that are the same photos as in the collage poster (also refer to the Myungsoo and Sungyeol promotional pages below).
Between Sungjong's and Sungkyu's promotional pages are photos from rehearsal.
Between Sungkyu's and Myungsoo's promotional pages are photos from backstage.
Between Myungsoo's and Sungyeol's, and Sungyeol's and Hoya's, are photos from live group stages.
Between Hoya's and Dongwoo's are photos from the solo stages. There are 2 pages dedicated to each solo stage, which is nice since Hoya's, Sungyeol's, and Sungjong's stages aren't in the concert DVDs.
Between Dongwoo's and Woohyun's are individual member's photos. These specific photos contain all 7 member photocards' photos. The group photocard photo is not in the photobook.
Between Woohyun's promotional page and the credits are photos from the ending stage.
This also comes with a random photocard out of 8 (there's a group card!). I feel like no one will be bulk buying this just to collect and trade the photocards, so I'm so thankful to have gotten Myungsoo!!! (← fangirl moment of silence: this is my second time pulling Myungsoo ever!)
Here is the back of the photocard.
The back designs are all slightly different - Myungsoo's "ADVANCE" is in white, just like the page opposite of his promotional photo in the photobook. The card is quite glossy unlike Infinite's other cards.
The photocard was placed deep into the photobook on this page - oh, the way Myungsoo is looking at Sungyeol!^^

I wanted to provide a comparison of the setlists from Infinite Effect, Infinite Effect Advance, the IEA DVDs, and the IEA CDs. Throughout the IE world tour, the setlist changed here and there. So I decided to give 2 setlists from IE, one from the first show in Seoul (I think...it's really hard to find this setlist!) and the one from IE in LA. (I hope you guys don't mind if I put some of the song titles in Korean, just so everything can fit more nicely in the table^^)

Thoughts about Infinite's second world tour, IEA, and this CD + DVD set, all in one go:
  • With the start of IE in Seoul, I was so thrilled to see that their setlist included the Korean versions of Infinite's many Japanese releases. I thought this meant that Infinite would perform these songs at every stop AND that Woollim would soon release a Korean album of Infinite's Japanese releases. Sadly neither happened.
  • Not surprisingly, IE wasn't released as a concert DVD just as OGS wasn't.
  • It's always hard watching Infinite's world tour encore concert DVDs and hearing them say how much they missed Korean Inspirits...as if international Inspirits are a burden ㅠㅠ
Thoughts about the DVDs:
  • At times the editing was choppy, especially between stages that were removed from the DVD.
  • The VCR opening seemed just like the one from IE! I'm so happy that IEA kept the VCR theme from IE so we at least have that documented^^
  • I liked how IEA started off so lively and light, whereas all of Infinite's other grand scale concerts started off very dark and strong.
  • As always, "발걸음", "Love Letter", and "마주보며 서 있어" are so amazing live.
  • I was so surprised and happy to see Gyu rap during his solo!
  • Woohyun's solo stage was breathtaking; I am still too speechless.
  • Myungsoo's solo stage was like SI, him shyly singing a ballad!
  • The World Tour Interview VCR is under 6 minutes. It's a compilation of solo interviews covering generic questions on the members' thoughts of their second world tour. It did warm my heart after the members said how it's hard not to see Korean Inspirits during the 6 month period (which brings my point from earlier -.-), then Hoya said how he was excited to embark on this tour. It was also really cool seeing different rooms of the Woollim building adorned with the artists' CDs, posters, and trophies!
  • Woohyun mentioned how the guitarist in their live band was his doppelganger throughout the world tour due to their matching blond hair. This is so true! When I blogged about my IE in Vancouver experience, I mentioned how I was tricked after the concert because I thought I had saw Woohyun in person!
  • Because Infinite changed up the encore song from "다시 돌아와" to "Back", it was entertaining to see the confusion of the crowd! Sungkyu mentioned it, bringing more entertainment to it.
  • During the ending ment, fans sang "With..." and Woohyun joined - it was so touching. It was even better when Sungkyu was saying how happy he was to hear the fans' "nice song" [With...] but he couldn't keep a straight face and started laughing because he couldn't understand what the fans were singing for the longest time!
  • Every time I watch an Infinite concert DVD, Sungkyu always steals the show for me. He always owns the stage, and this time, all of his antics were just too adorable! He is such an entertaining MC. It was hilarious when Sungkyu said that Infinite will all be at Hoya's upcoming movie premier, and that the members should all try to hold in their laughter while there.
  • Infinite has grown so much. Now in their ending speeches, they are much more informal and they speak in the moment, whatever comes to their minds. It feels a lot more personable, like they're talking to us in a conversation.
  • In Myungsoo's ending speech, he kept referring to himself as "oppa". In this case, I guess I'm not as upset by how Infinite keeps saying that they miss their Korean fans. It's like in this instance, Myungsoo's assuming that all the fans are girls (though I did spot one guy in standing!), like how they always assume their fans are Korean citizens.
  • The Making is about 22 minutes long and is broken up into 3 days: the day before the concert, Day 1 of IEA, and Day 2 of IEA. The first day showed Infinite's prep, including signing autographs (for the paper airplanes they'll throw) and doing sound checks. It was cool seeing Sungkyu and Woohyun rehearsing their solo stages and making note that the beat was faster than the original. The second day showed the fans outside the venue, Infinite rehearsing, and Infinite preparing backstage. During backstage before the concert, it was funny hearing Infinite's comments about each other's appearances - including that Dongwoo was dressed like Joon Pyo from Boys Over Flowers! There was also a glimpse of the press conference. Then there was a quick medley of the first concert, followed by informal backstage interviews. The third day followed the same pattern as the second day, sans the press conference. It was nice getting a glimpse of Hoya's, Sungyeol's, and Sungjong's solo stages since those aren't shown in the concert DVD.
Thoughts about the CDs:
  • I was disappointed that there are only 19 tracks (due to individual stages), especially compared to OGSR Live. While I'm glad that only the 7 solo stages were removed from the CD tracklist and not any of the group stages, that is still a big chunk of the concert that's missing...
  • With Infinite's live albums, I love listening to see if all of the tracks are from the last day of the concert, as shown on the DVD. But of course I fail at this and can't tell^^
  • It would be nice if Woollim released live albums of their summer concerts where they do acoustic versions of their tracks.
  • My favorites are definitely the three Reality tracks (as mentioned above) and "Follow Me".
I must admit that my above opinions seem really negative. But in reality, how could I not love an Infinite item? Of course I could not stop fangirling over the concert DVDs nor could I stop singing along to the live CDs. It's always amazing seeing and listening to Infinite shining on stage. And I really hope Infinite can continue holding world tours in the future~!

[IFNT COLL] Infinite DVDs

Here is my next installation of my Infinite collection! If you've missed out on my recent posts, I have an introductory post that you can check out here. I'll show my Infinite DVD collection in this post, with ∞ links to my unboxing review of each item. This part of my collection is definitely the most incomplete due to Infinite's many rare DVD sets from their hay days and their many Japanese DVD releases that I can't keep up with. I'll try to list all of the Infinite DVDs that I'm missing within each subcategory below.

Second Invasion Concert DVDs
Second Invasion
Second Invasion Evolution (Limited Edition)

Missing:
∞ Second Invasion Evolution (Normal Edition)

As Infinite's first concerts, these DVDs are so special. I especially love the limited edition of SIE and watching the 3D movie. For SIE, I am absolutely in love with Woohyun's 커플 stage and Myungsoo's 연애시대 stage - nothing can top these two performances!

그 해 여름 (That Summer) Concert DVDs
 That Summer
 That Summer 2
I absolutely love Infinite's summer concert series with small venues and many shows. They're so different from Infinite's grand concerts like Second Invasion or One Great Step and give off such a personable atmosphere.

World Tour Encore Concert DVDs
One Great Step Returns
Infinite Effect Advance Live - L photocard (out of 7)
Before seeing Infinite live, watching my concert DVDs was already intense enough with my constant fangirling. But after seeing Infinite live, watching their concert DVDs has taken me on an even deeper emotional fangirling level. I always tear up with that bittersweet feeling of being grateful for seeing Infinite, but being greedy for wanting to see them again. On another note, I can't believe I pulled Myungsoo for the IEA photocard! (<-- More fangirling in my IEA Live review)

Documentary DVDs
Destiny in America
Grow - Infinite's Real Youth Life

Missing:
∞ Infinitize Showcase

I'm so happy that Woollim released these documentaries. It's so cool seeing Infinite in the US for Destiny in America. As for Grow, at first I was disappointed that Woollim didn't release a concert DVD for One Great Step. But Grow is a nice consolation and I'm glad that Woollim did document Infinite's first world tour to share. Now I wonder if anything will be released for Infinite Effect...

Japanese DVDs
Ranking King - Sungyeol t-shirt (out of 7)
Second Invasion Evolution Plus (Korean Version)

Missing:
∞ You're My Oppa
∞ Sesame Player
∞ Infinite Japan 1st Live Leaping Over
∞ Second Invasion in Japan
∞ My K-Star Infinite (MBC DVD Collection)
∞ 2015 Infinite Japan Tour Dilemma

There are seriously way too many Japanese releases - either Korean shows only for the Japanese market or Japanese events that are only released on DVD in Japanese. (In hindsight, it's probably a good thing that Woollim doesn't release Korean versions of Japanese DVDs, or else I'd be broke beyond repair). When I had a layover in Tokyo in September 2013, I was determined to buy the Ranking King set in order to get an official Infinite shirt to wear to OGS LA that November. I spent about $100USD on this set that is only in Region 2 with non-English subtitles that I had already watched on YouTube...I feel like this was not worth it, but I'm glad I got to wear my Sungyeol shirt to the concert^^

Thank you for reading! I'll continue revealing my Infinite collection with my next post - Infinite's Korean albums^^ (← that post will have to be put on hold, because I will be receiving another Infinite Only soon!)

[IFNT COLL] Infinite Solo / Sub-Unit / Project Albums

Here is my next post revealing my Infinite collection! I'll be covering the Korean album releases of Infinite's solo artists, sub-units, and project unit.
Above is my entire collection of Korean albums for Sungkyu, Woohyun, Infinite H, Infinite F, and Toheart. I am not missing any release, except for the ultra rare limited editions of Sungkyu's Another Me and Woohyun's Write.. albums. Below I'll break down this collection by solo artist, then by sub-unit, followed by project unit. Click the ∞ before each album to see my unboxing review of it.

Kim Sung Kyu
Another Me (Mini Album)
Sticker: Pink, Black/Teal/Gray (out of 10)
Missing: Special edition

 27 (Mini Album)
Sticker: Black/Blue/White top (out of 5)
Back Cover: All-black background (out of 3)

At one point in time, I was considering collecting all Another Me stickers. I'm really glad I didn't go down that route. Anyways, I wonder if other people keep their Another Me exterior bag as well...?

Nam Woo Hyun
 Write.. (Mini Album)
Photocard: 나 멋져? (out of 5)
Missing: Special edition

I absolutely love this set of photocards. Mine asks "I'm cool, right?" 끄덕끄덕^^

Infinite H (Dongwoo & Hoya)
Fly High (Mini Album)
Photocard: Dongwoo - fists together, Hoya - hand on mouth (out of 10)

Fly Again (Mini Album)
Photocard: Hoya - b&w, Hoya - closeup (out of 6)

I love how Infinite H's 2 releases have kept their packaging and content consistent - it looks so pretty like this.

Infinite F (Sungyeol, L & Sungjong)
  Azure (Single)
Photocard: Sungyeol - hologram, Sungyeol - inside, L - inside, L - outside, Sungjong - hologram (out of 9)
The album comes with 2 photocards; mine came with the 2 Sungyeol cards above. I really like the Polaroid-like design, so I bid on eBay for those L ones. I also bid for the hologram Sungjong one, because I thought I'd try to collect all 9 photocards, but that was a short-lived dream.

Toheart (Woohyun & Key)
The First Mini Album (Mini Album)
Photocard: Key - b&w (out of 6)
With my luck, I got Key's photocard...there are 2 Woohyun cards, 2 Key cards, and 2 group cards, and I got 1 of the 2 without Woohyun.

Thanks for reading! Coming up I'll be reviewing the Infinite Effect Advance  Live CD + DVD Set and continue revealing my Infinite collection.

[IFNT COLL] Infinite Japanese Albums

This is my first detailed post from My Infinite Collection series, which I give an introduction here. In these posts, I will begin with a collective photo and list any releases that I am missing. Then I will break it down by each release and list any versions that I am missing. Click the ∞ before each album to see my unboxing review of it.
Missing Entirely: Best of Infinite
Here is my entire collection of Infinite's Japanese album releases. I have tried to get at least one version of each album, however it's getting harder with the increasing number of releases these past few years.

BTD (Single)
Normal Edition
Single + Photobook (Type A)
 Single + DVD (Type B)
Photocard: Exterior White (out of at least 2), Group (out of 1), Sungkyu, L (out of 7)
Infinite's Japanese debut, the beginning of Infinite having more than one version of a release. The normal edition comes with the Group card with the limited editions come with 1 out of 7. I pulled Sungkyu from Type A. At the time I first looked into these albums (in early 2013), Type A was going for around $50 new and Type B was well over $100 new. So I opted for buying Type B used from eBay, and the seller included a bonus external postcard (there are at least 2 designs) and L's card.

Be Mine (Single)
Solid Version (Jacket A)
Innocent Version (Jacket C)
Missing: Pop Art Version (Jacket B), normal edition
Postcard: Solid Hoya (out of 7), Innocent Sungkyu (out of 7)
These are becoming so much harder to find new, so I'm not sure if I'll ever get the Pop Art one. The Innocent one has so much meaning to me because it was one of my first Infinite albums ever - I fell in love with the concept instantly. Each version comes with 1 of 7 random postcards.

She's Back -Japanese Ver.- (Single)
 Limited
Missing: normal edition
A4 Card: Woohyun (out of 7)
This limited edition is probably my favorite of Infinite's limited editions. The packaging, the photobook, the random card, they're all absolutely perfect. Because of this feeling, I have no desire to get the normal edition.

Last Romeo -君がいればいい- (Single)
Normal
 Single + DVD (Type A)
Single + Booklet (Type B)
Photocard: Woohyun (out of 8)
The photoshoot from the normal edition is absolute perfection. I really wish they used more photos from that shoot instead of using some from Season 2 and that weird geometric outfit.

Dilemma (Single)
 First Press Normal
 Single + DVD
Photocard: Woohyun (out of 8)
At the time, I was just really relieved that this release included a completely new photoshoot, unlike Last Romeo which reused the Season 2 photoshoot. Now, I absolutely love the photoshoot from Dilemma, especially from the normal photobooklet. I was never one to instinctively order Infinite's Japanese releases, but for this release, I have no regrets whatsoever.

24時間 24 Hours (Single)
 First Press Normal
Single + DVD
 All Members' Versions
Photocard: Group, Sungyeol (out of 8)
It was already hard enough for me to come to terms with getting all versions of Last Romeo and Dilemma. But to have all 9 versions of 24 Hours, I feel so silly, and I have yet to open Sungkyu's and Dongwoo's versions. But anyways, the first press normal and limited versions come with 1 photocard. I heard that the Group card is all too common, so I'm happy to have received the Group one from the normal and Sungyeol from the limited.

恋に落ちるとき Koi Ni Ochiru Toki (Full Length Album)
Limited
Missing: normal edition
Booklet:  Woohyun, L (out of 7)
I absolutely love these random member booklets. The photos are all so adorable, how can one not want to collect all 7. I initially bought KNOT at HMV in Tokyo and got Hoya. The first hyperlink is my review with the Hoya booklet. Then my friend ordered one and got L and readily traded with me! I was so happy, then I realized that I should just collect all 7...so I bought a used KNOT on Amazon and got Woohyun! The second hyperlink is an updated post with photos of the Woohyun and L booklets.

For You (Full Length Album)
 Limited + DVD
Missing: limited edition with Bluray, normal edition, member versions (x7)
10 versions may be a bit excessive, so I'll stick to just this 1 version for now. I can make do without a photocard or an A4 folder.

恋のサイン Koi No Sign (Infinite F Single)
First Press Normal
Single + DVD (Type A)
Single + Booklet (Type B)
Photocard: Group, L, Sungjong (out of 5)
Each version, granted that it is first press, comes with 1 out of 5 photocards. I'm really happy that I didn't receive any duplicates. I originally only bought Type A and got Sungyeol. Unfortunately my album arrived damaged, so I exchanged it and in return received the Group card. Later on I ordered Type B and got Sungjong. Lastly, I bought the Taiwanese edition of the normal version and got L (← a moment to fangirl, as this was my first time pulling L^^). I also have a poster for this, but I'm not sure where to blog about my posters yet...

Thank you for reading! I will slowly but surely continue posting about the rest of my collection, so please stay tuned.

[IFNT COLL] My Infinite Collection Introduction

Infinite means the world to me as they've helped me become a better version of myself. Not only that, I'm so grateful to Inspirits for helping me grow as well. Recently I had an application essay with the topic What is your best community? and I instinctively wrote about how the Inspirit community has given me so much strength and how I always want to give back to the fandom. I hope that my blog posts have helped Inspirits and the broader audience with better understanding Infinite merchandise and Korean merchandise in general. Now I'll begin a series of posts to reveal my entire Infinite collection that also compiles my unboxing reviews of those items.

I have been collecting since March 2013 and am really proud of this collection, though of course it's not complete and I'm missing quite a few of the more recent releases due to the many versions being released. Everything is official and was purchased new except for BTD Type B (black) and Over The Top.
To begin, I store majority of my Infinite merchandise on my shelves here. The bottom shelf is all Infinite stuff, from right to left: drama OSTs, mini albums, singles, full length albums, repackaged albums, Japanese releases, photo essay books, Japanese DVDs, Korean DVDs, and Reality limited edition at the end. The shelf above on the left contains collection card binders, Season's Greetings boxes, IDEA photobook, and She's Back limited album. I'm running out of room so there are some items sadly not on display.
I display some of my Infinite memorabilia on these shelves. I put random items on here, like L'aile's goods, fansite fans, concert merchandise, calendars, T-money cards, and endorsement goods. You can also see the L's Bravo Viewtiful Part 2 poster on the left - many of my posters are framed and lying against my walls. I'll figure out how to show those later.

As you can see, my displays are quite messy. Once I finish this series of posts, I hope to reorganize my room and properly display my Infinite merchandise. Then, I would like to post my Inspirit room tour to properly show my displays.

I have been wanting to post about my Infinite collection for quite some time but still haven't figured out an efficient way to organize everything. I'll try my best and break up my collection into separate, detailed posts:

Infinite Korean Albums
Infinite Japanese Albums
Infinite Solo/Sub-Unit/Project Albums
 Infinite Other Albums
Infinite DVDs
∞ Infinite Miscellaneous Official Goods
∞ Infinite Events Merchandise
∞ Infinite Collaboration and Endorsement Merchandise
∞ Infinite Magazine Features
Drama Merchandise

I will provide links to the above posts as I finish them and will continue to update these posts as I collect more items. I'll also place all of these posts under the label "My Infinite Collection." Additionally, in each post I will provide links to my unboxing reviews of each item pictured, hyperlinked to (∞).

I'm really excited to be doing this extensive (and hopefully photo-heavy) blogging because I seldom take the time to look at every item I have. I hope you enjoy these posts as much as I do creating them and please ask if you have questions about anything.
